I. Educational Objectives

The major is designed to train students to acquire the fundamental engineering technonlgy and other professional knowledge in a wide range concerning electrotechnics, electronic technique, theory of control, digital signal processing, automatic measure technology and meter, systematic engineering, computer control and application , network technology and etc., so as to be able to undertake the task of system analysis, system design, system operation, technology development and research in the field of motion control, industrial process control, measurement technology&instrument automation, electronic and computer technology, information processing, management and decision making.

II. Education Requirements

The students of this major are supposed to acquire theories and knowledges of electrotechnics, technology of electronics, theory of control, DSP principle and application, information processing ,systematic engineering, automatic measure technology and meter, computer technology and application, network technology, accepting better engineering practice training so as to be equipped with fundamental abilities of system analyzing, designing, developing and researching.

Upon graduation, students are expected

1. to build up a solid foundation of the knowledge about natural science, humanities and social sciences, and to be able to use a foreign language with ease;

2. to have a good command of wide range of knowledge and fundamental theories of circuit theory,electronic technique, theory of control, information processing, computer hardware&software theory and application and etc.;

3. to have a good grasp of knowledge involving motion control, industrial process control, automation instrument, digital signal processing ,be equipped with professional knowledges and skills in one or two specialty directions, to learn about the theoretical current issues and the trend in this specialty;

4. to accept better engineering practice training in the field of system analysis, system design and system development;

5. to be equipped with fundamental abilities of scientific research and development and administration ,to have strong working adaptability;

Degrees Conferred: Bachelor of Engineering

IV. Curriculum and Credit Distribution

1. General Education Courses (54 credits)

Requirements: 44 credits for compulsory courses;10 credits for elective courses 

2.Basic Disciplinary Courses (42.5 credits)

Requirements: the total of 42.5 credits for basic courses in the Discipline.

3. Specialty-Oriented  Courses(54.5 credits)

Requirements: 42.5 credits for compulsory specialty-oriented courses; 12 credits for elective specialty-oriented courses.

4. Optional Courses(6 credits)

Requirements: 6 credits.

5.Second Class(Extracurricular Activities)(3 credits)

Requirements: 3 credits
