I. Educational Objectives
The major is aimed at producing interdisciplinary talents in engineering technology who have received systematic training in the field of Mechatronic Engineering, and who are well informed of the foundational knowledge of Modern Mechanical and Electrical Products, System Design, Manufacturing and Control, prominent in professional knowledge and proficient in operating skills and experienced in analyzing practical problems, qualified for the work related to technological development, application studies, and technological management in the field of port machinery equipment, electromechnical control and maintainance.
II. Education Requirements
Students of this major are acquainted with the basic theoretical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Technology, got trained under the senior electrical engineers of modern times and equipped with the primary abilities and skills in the technology control, management and maintainance of port mechanical and electrical equipment and system.
Upon graduation, students are expected
1. to have a good grasp of the technological foundational theory including: Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Technology, and Control Theory;
2. to master the basic techniques of mechanical drawing, calculating, testing, field study, document-retrieving, programming as well as fundamental process manipulation;
3. to be able to apply electromechanical integration technology to port machinery control and management and keep pace with the forefront information as well as the new trends of the discipline;
4. to be proficient in English, fluent in English conversation and in reading English documents related to Port Mechanical Engineering;
5. to have strong abilities of autonomous learning, self-exploration, as well as innovative consciousness and entrepreneurial spirit;
6. to have good humanistic qualities and engineering professional ethics.

1. General Education Courses: 54 credits (among which 44 credits for the compulsory courses and 10 credits for the elective courses)
2. Basic Courses in the Discipline: 43 credits (no less than 41.5 credits)
3. Specialty-oriented Courses: 54 credits (including 40 credits for the required courses and 14 for the elective courses)
