The Seminar of Students on Mid-Term Teaching Quality Inspection was held by Logistics Engineering College in the afternoon of November 6th, 2013, in Room 506, Logistics Building. The seminar was presided over by Vice President for Teaching Mr. Xue Shilong. Secretary of Party Committee of College Tang Xuhong, Deputy Secretary Liu Haiwei, Secretary of League Committee Branch Yang Ming, Teaching Secretary Chen Min, Yuan Chenhua and undergraduate students representatives form all majors attended this seminar.
The seminar was opened with Deputy President Mr. Xue’s emphasis on the meaning and importance of this activity. The aim of such seminar is to listen the inner voice of students. The college is willing to acquire the information on teaching activity of professors and academic atmosphere. Before the seminar, student representatives gleaned ideas from students and voiced their opinion on the seminar. Focusing on the features of scientific disciplines, students made speeches on a number of topics, including teaching arrangements, teaching activity, student attendance, study interest, interaction between teachers and students, teaching methods, timetable of classes, experiment class, technological innovation, and homework system. These topics cover the area of teaching management, and academic and teaching atmosphere. Several reasonable proposals were also made on some difficult students.
Mr. Xue had a good understanding of teaching and academic atmosphere on the seminar and answered a few questions. He also claimed that he would feedback this information to professors and concerning departments and would inform the students of following resolutions.
The seminar made it easier to understand students’ feelings for different parts of teaching activity and acquire information on study and teaching form the perspective of students, thus promoting the development of good mechanism for propelling academic and teaching atmosphere.
